School Update
Dear Families,
You will have seen, the Education Secretary released details of how schools will look from September.
The main change is that we have been told that we will no longer have to maintain bubbles, so groups can mix more, and we can get back to a more normal way of working.
Another of the main changes will be no longer sending home full bubbles in the case of contact with a confirmed case which will hopefully make things more stable both for school and staffing.
There will no longer be the requirement to wear face coverings, although this could change if locally there are concerns around infection rates.
It is also recommended that regular testing will help to make all of this possible, both of staff and secondary age pupils. We certainly encourage this now to identify any asymptomatic cases.
Although we are relieved about some of these changes, I know some of you and some staff have expressed concern, especially with the sharp rise of confirmed cases in the area at the moment. Given that September is still a way off, we are of a mind that we will not make sweeping changes all at once. For example, it may be unwise for full school assemblies to start again straight away.
Rest assured that as always, safety of all our school community will be the most important consideration and that any changes will be given careful consideration. We will keep you updated with any new information you need to know.
Kind regards
Janis
